The Global Initiative for Talented Students is a newly formed 501c3 nonprofit, designed to help talented students across all domains prepare for college and beyond. Global Initiative for Talented Students, or G.I.F.T.S, achieves this noble goal by granting students access to performance, audition, and mentoring opportunities that would be unattainable otherwise. G.I.F.T.S. believes all talented students, regardless of their background, deserve the same opportunities to succeed as other more fortunate students do.
To earn 501c3 status, nonprofits typically require two things. A well-known identity people trust and an established presence online. Upon acquiring the 501c3 rank, organizations are considered officially certified. Having this certification makes it possible for nonprofits to start collecting donations and awarding scholarships. G.I.F.T.S. was preparing for such a noble step. They wanted to start issuing the first scholarships before and during the college acceptance season, however, the fall semester was approaching faster than anticipated.
To start operating as a true nonprofit, Foundry512 designed an official identity and a multi-colored, performance-oriented logo. The new G.I.F.T.S. logo was utilized as organization collateral and implemented across all social media channels. With the G.I.F.T.S. brand in place, Foundry512 designed a responsive website on WooCommerce and WordPress, which was equipped with Easy Digital Downloads so G.I.F.T.S. could start collecting donations digitally. G.I.F.T.S. used the eCommerce store to distribute promotional product downloads and tracking donations. Donors giving these charitable funds receive an automated follow-up email, complete with tax incentive and reporting documentation for any end of year write-offs. In order for G.I.F.T.S. to create multi-campaigns, Foundry512 implemented a Crowdfunding solution capable of funding multiple opportunities at the same time. This system is designed to host all of the campaigns registered users create for talented students.
